Stella Times...Week 4

My Darling Stella,

It's been both a wonderful week and a rough week in our house. You change and grow every day, but that also means that your Daddy and I don't always know what to do to help you when you're sad! I've read that many babies have growth spurts around three weeks, and I definitely think you had one. You were pretty unhappy and extremely hungry for 2-3 days, and as exhausting as it was, it has made me appreciate even more all of your happy, laid back, sleepy days!

New Years Eve was on a Saturday night this year, and instead of a big party, your Daddy and I were so exhausted that we stayed home as a family of three and went to bed early and cuddled with you. It was perfect. :-) We also spent the afternoon taking you on your very first walk. You did great!

Yesterday, when you were 3 weeks and 6 days old, your Daddy gave you your very first bottle. Once we found the right bottle/nipple combination, it went great! The first nipple was way too fast and you had milk dripping down your face and all over the place, though you didn't seem to mind at all. :-) I am SO happy that you don't seem to care whether your food is coming to you warm from me or cold from a bottle - either way you guzzle it down. This morning you even took a bottle from me!

Every night your Daddy and I thank God that you're in our lives. We love you so, so much.

Johanna said...: So glad she's taking the bottle well! I think you're right to try the bottle so early, and give her a taste of cold milk. Fable had to have her milk very warm, which was often very inconvenient! Yay, Stella!
